While the US may have decided to remove the element of surprise from a potential tactical strike inside North Korea in order to spook Kim Jong-Un, it is just as likely that by exposing their intentions, the US may have precipitated a response from the Korean leader which will make such a military operation inevitable, even as the geopolitical fallout for the region from such an action could be dire.
As a reminder, last week an analysis by the Predata-Beyond Parallel strategic consultancy predicted that there is a 43% chance of North Korean WMD activity taking place in the next 14 days, rising to 62% in the next 30 days.

I am distressed about the detail in this article.
If this much information is available then what about the element of surprise? The reports of an ambush in Aleppo were really distressing to me. The News Media is out of control and endangering America’s Warriors!
I cannot imagine why America would want to release this type of information in advance of the actual covert action.

Never threaten a madman who has his own Special Operations Forces and his own nuclear arsenal (and the cruise missiles to deliver it – don’t forget that Iran gets its viable missile technology from North Korea).
Kim knows the gory details of what happened to Saddam Hussein and Moamar Khadafy, both of whom were total flakes by North Korean standards.
Kim’s just not just the crazy fat kid our Western media likes to make him out to be. A total loon – yes. But he was schooled in Switzerland (where it was said he showed a high IQ), speaks several languages, and constantly studies military history and science. Whereas his father spent his off hours watching American movies, Kim Sung Un spends an hour or two every day at his private pistol range (he’s a good shot, and has the tactical mind-sense of a competative shooter).
He’s insane, but crafty-insane in ways that only the genetically inbred can be insane. He’s more likely to do his next nuclear test via an improved Silkworm above the flight deck of the Carl Vinson than he is to quietly step aside (and then likely be murdered by his own General Staff).
Dangerous times ahead.
