How the heck can someone be getting a Food Stamp / EBT benefit over $5,000?
Electronic Benefit Transfer Cards EBT cards were adopted to help the leeches avoid the embarrassment of using food stamps when they checked out at the market.
This is the reason many people have no sympathy for liberal budget cut pearl-clutching.
Make that, all Americans who work for a living.

I remember decades ago, seeing long lines at food centers and people were given basic canned foods, the blocks of cheese, and other stuff. The blocks of cheese, some people sold to grocery stores. Others complained they could not sell cans with government program labeling. Then the food stamps came out, when politicians lamented of people not eating because they did not like the food offered. In NYC, one politician who was always in favor of the food stamps, incidentally had something like a dozen girlfriends, and they were all on welfare and food stamps. Then it came out that his wife also, was collecting welfare and food stamps. Cultural Corruption.

There is a church near my house that hands out free food on tuesdays. The people lined up for the free food are all under 35, obese, covered with EXPENSIVE tattoos and piercings, and every single one stands there playing on an EXPENSIVE PHONE! If they can afford all that ink and metal they are carrying around, they can buy their own food!
My sons all worked in supermarkets in high school and as young adults. When a customer spent food stamps unwisely, they were not allowed to comment.
On friday afternoon when parents wanted to go out and get drunk that night, they would send each child in with a $5 stamp. have them buy a tiny lollypop, get change in cash. All the checkers began carrying a pocketful of THEIR OWN change. When a kid showed up trying to break a food stamp for cash, the checker would just pay for the candy, send the kid back to the car with the intact food stamp. My son went and talked to clerks in other stores and they began doing it too. I have no idea how those people managed to get drunk, but they did!
