The most powerful people in the technology sector, along with other billionaires and top Republicans, flew to a small island off the coast of Georgia last weekend to attend a secretive forum, where they discussed, among other things, how to keep current Republican front-runner Donald Trump from winning the party’s presidential nomination, the Huffington Post reports.
Among the cabal of tech C.E.O.s who met at the remote Sea Island Resort for the American Enterprise Institute’s annual World Forum were Apple C.E.O. Tim Cook, Tesla Motors and SpaceX C.E.O. Elon Musk, Napster C.E.O. Sean Parker, and Google co-founder Larry Page.
Top Republicans, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, House Speaker Paul Ryan, Senator Tom Cotton, and Karl Rove also attended the forum, as did billionaire G.O.P. donor Philip Anschutz and New York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger.

Although the Huffington Post reported that Trump was the “main topic” of conversation, noting that strategist Karl Rove gave a presentation on how the Republican front-runner can be stopped, the fact that the meeting was in secret left most details hidden.

In part of its report, The Huffington Post quoted sources “familiar with the meeting” as saying that much of the conversation around Trump centered on “how this happened, rather than how are we going to stop him.”
However, conservative commentator Bill Kristol put the discussion in a different perspective
“A specter was haunting the World Forum–the specter of Donald Trump,” Kristol wrote in an emailed report. “There was much unhappiness about his emergence, a good deal of talk, some of it insightful and thoughtful, about why he’s done so well, and many expressions of hope that he would be defeated.”
“The key task now, to once again paraphrase Karl Marx, is less to understand Trump than to stop him,” Kristol wrote. “In general, there’s a little too much hand-wringing, brow-furrowing, and fatalism out there and not quite enough resolving to save the party from nominating or the country electing someone who simply shouldn’t be president.”
As the elite mull their next step, the fact that they are even doing so shows the spilt in America, wrote Matthew Geiger on Communities Digital News.
“Donald Trump’s popularity is the product of a political system that has failed to recognize and address the interests of the American people.
Instead of addressing their deficits and showing a capacity to learn, those in the industry of politics have simply lashed out against Trump,” Geiger wrote.
“Second, it demonstrates to the political elite the limits of their influence.
In order to shape public policies to reflect their special interests going forward, they must become far more strategic.
Thus far, the political world has decided to take a stand against change in a ‘him-or-us’ showdown,” he wrote.

The Neocons (Google the term) are composed primarily of those who were Leftist radicals of the 1950s and 1960s who switched over to the other side of the spectrum after observing the failure of the Soviet and Maoist planned economies.
It’s typical that Bill Krystol would quote Karl Marx, because he’s far more familiar with those icons of the Left than he would be with Adam Smith and Edmund Burke of an earlier era. Besides, Neocons also tend to come from Patrician families rather than proletarians who couldn’t (or even want to) tell a classic 1992 Pinot Noir from last week’s Ripple.
Trump doesn’t come from an Upper Crust bloodline. And he doesn’t want to see a “unified” collectivist (ie NWO) world (in which Marx’s hammer and sickle emblem gets swapped out for a JP Morgan dollar-sign).
The whole concept of a One World Order is just the old Communist dream of a single world united under a Universal Communist Order. Only in the NeoCapitalist new world order, the Revolutionary Vanguard gets paid off in stock options and corporate sinecures.
