Funny, I had always figured that Heather Nauert, an on again off again contributor to Fox News was certainly a pretty woman but some what of an intellectual lightweight.
A quick review of the U.N.’s Mission Statement immediately demonstrates it has been a failure. (Source)
The only reason it likely exists and didn’t go the way of the League Of Nations which the U.S. refused to join is it provides sanctuary for an international spy’s club.
Diplomats for the most part are spies, so the U.S. can spy on its enemies while our enemies spy on us.
In the end, let’s hope the unpaid parking tickets come out about the same.

In any event is she is appointed to the position she will not be in over her head, she will be dealing with intellectual lightweights from non voting countries as well as the bigger ones,
Ms. Nauert, pronounced as nauer, sounding like hour, also worked at the State Department which should quell any suggestions that she would not be up for the new position being offered. (Source)
The creators of the United Nations Charter conceived that five countries — China, France, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) [which was succeeded in 1990 by the Russian Federation], the United Kingdom and the United States.
Because of their key roles in the establishment of the United Nations, would continue to play important roles in the maintenance of international peace and security.
They were granted the special status of Permanent Member States at the Security Council, along with a special voting power known as the “right to veto.”
It was agreed by the drafters that if any one of the five permanent members cast a negative vote in the 15-member Security Council, the resolution or decision would not be approved.
All five permanent members have exercised the right of veto at one time or another.
If a permanent member does not fully agree with a proposed resolution but does not wish to cast a veto, it may choose to abstain, thus allowing the resolution to be adopted if it obtains the required number of nine favorable votes.
