Will President nominate Trey Gowdy for United States Attorney General?

While he may appear to some to be hyper partisan, using a take no hostages or prisoners approach, in reality he’s a guy who stands for law and order.

Who would make a better choice.

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R., S.C.) on Thursday castigated the Department of Justice for its handling of the Russia investigation, telling FBI Director Christopher Wray and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to present the findings soon because the probe is “tearing” the country apart.

Wray and Rosenstein were on Capitol Hill testifying at a House Judiciary Committee hearing, where Gowdy gave an impassioned speech blasting the ongoing probe into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and possible collusion between the Russian government and Donald Trump’s campaign in that effort.

“Russia attacked this country.

They should be the target, but Russia isn’t being hurt by this investigation right now,” Gowdy said.

“This country is being hurt by it. We are being divided.”

Gowdy went on to demand that the Department of Justice unveil its findings, saying that the investigation’s drawn-out process is damaging the country.

“We need to see the evidence.

If you have evidence of wrongdoing by any member of the Trump campaign, present it to the damn grand jury,” he told Wray and Rosenstein.

“If you have evidence that this president acted inappropriately, present it to the American people.

There’s an old saying that justice delayed is justice denied.

I think right now all of us are being denied.

Whatever you got, finish it the hell up, because this country is being torn apart.”

“At precisely the same time Bob Mueller was appointed, Peter Strzok was talking about his unfinished business and how he needed to fix and finish it so Donald Trump did not become president,” Gowdy said.

“[Strzok] was talking about impeachment within three days of special counsel Mueller being appointed,” the congressman continued.

“That’s even quicker than MSNBC and the Democrats were talking about impeaching him!”

Gowdy spent several minutes of his questioning time lambasting FBI agent Peter Strzok, who led the bureau’s investigation into Russia’s election interference as well as the probe into Hillary Clinton’s private email server.

A Department of Justice inspector general report released earlier this month showed that Strzok sent text messages during the investigations expressing opposition to Trump’s candidacy.

In one message to FBI attorney Lisa Page in August 2016, Strzok said “we’ll stop” Trump from becoming president and called Trump’s supporters “retarded.”

“When a foreign state interferes with our democratic electoral process, it should be the chance of a lifetime for a law-enforcement agent to investigate that, except, apparently, the one that was actually picked to investigate it,” Gowdy said, referring to Strzok.

“At about the exact same time [Strzok] was picked to lead [the FBI’s investigation into Russian interference], this dispassionate and fair FBI agent was calling Trump a disaster, destabilizing for the country,” Gowdy added with sarcasm.

“I’ll leave out all the ‘F’ adjectives he used to describe that. I’ll just go with disaster and destabilizing.”

Gowdy also discussed Rosenstein’s appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller in May 2017 to lead the Russia probe.

  1. Rule of Law says:

Based on published reports Trey Gowdy has said he will return home to the private practice in Law.

It is difficult to understand what is happening in America’s Government because of all of the Main Stream Media “Fake News” being published. The BIAS is overwhelming to the average American. Congress is just as guilty as the MSM. Members of Congress have gone off-the-rails so to speak. Maxine Waters is the most obvious example but there are many others who openly refuse to do what is right for America. Maxine Waters has committed SEDITION in my opinion and needs to be tried and then shot for her clear crimes against a sitting president. Very clear in the Constitution about this subject.

The U. S. Constitution is very clear about certain issues such as the Right to Bear Arms, free speech and freedom of religion. However, immediately after becoming sworn in and taking the required OATH to “protect and defend” the Constitution America has elected officials violating their oath.

There are sections of the U. S. Constitution that need to be made available to all American Citizens, Not the least of which is that the U. S. Constitution is the Law of the Land in the United States of America. The Required oath to follow and obey the laws of America for all Americans.

The Muslims require all Muslims to take a conflicting Oath to Sharia Law and therefore should be banned from America. Islam is a Political Dogma disguised as a religion and does not fit not American Law.

Right on! Unfortunately a large percentage (in my opinion) of people disregard law and order in this country. While Trey Gowdy would definitely make an outstanding AG, I believe he is sick and tired of Washington corruption and bias on both sides of the aisle. He certainly has the balls to take needed action. I’m sure he just wore out fighting the corrupt establishment. But MAYBE he would be receptive to the idea.

  2. Isn’t it odd- – how you can look closely at a person’s face, especially the eyes, and most of the time you know in one second if they can be trusted- – OR NOT! Rosenstine just LOOKS WEASLY! So does Muller- – and Billary and Slimy Willy, That little TWINK that HRC had running as her VP candidate, (I bet his Mommy still calls him SKIPPY!) and that measly little Californian- – I can’t even remember his name- – with the “MOMMY’S PRECIOUS LITTLE BOY” face. LOOK CLOSELY, PEOPLE! Now, Comey has a face that can fool you! He has an honest look about him, even though he has proven he is not.

Agree granny, what I saw initially was a guy with body language looking down, the CNN tape which cut of his response, so I went with the fox report where he tried to get a bit testy and still got his ass pummeled.

  3. GG says:

Trey Gowdy is a BRILLIANT lawyet, and no doubt knows US Constitutional Law. That said, so is Gowdy’s predecessor, Darrell Issa. Both are fully capable of rupping the Deep State a new one, but for my money, they’re all talk, no action, and stop
short of making sure Justice is served. I read countless comments from
othrr Patriots who believe the same thing.. They’re part of
the Swamp, or threatened by Deep State to let things fade away,
or ????. Gowdy was “conveniently absent” the day Congress voted to
remove Boehner as SOTH, and during the 2016 GOP Primary Campaign, he endorsed Lil’ Marco Rubio of all people!!!!

I, personally, don’t trust Trey Gowdy to be SCOTUS.

He’s fully capable, but what has he actually done
besides verbally scald the hides of a few Kleptocrats, while he’s
been House Oversight & Govt. Reform Chairman?

Yes, the below article is from Rolling Stone, but its a well worded one on Congressman Gowdy. What true Conservative, not the Paul Ryan, Bob Corker brand of conservatism (Globalist bought & paid for) would endorse a known RINO like Lil’ Marco for GOP Presidential Primary candidate, over a number of the other 16 splinter candidates?

I believe Gowdy is fully capable of being a strict Constitutionalist SCOTUS black robe, I just don’t trust him to be that person. I believe there are others who would
be wiser choices than Trey Gowdy to be Trump’s Kennedy replacement nominee.

In my humble opinion, and Issa is from my State, he held a lot of hearings accomplished little. Gowdy will make the opposition and limp dicks from the left feel like they have third degree burns.
