Rep. Trey Gowdy to retire; will return to law career

By Jim Campbell,

This is sad for those of us who believed his future in government had no limits.

In a very telling interview below he explains his reasoned thinking on how he came to make his decision.

Trey Gowdy had a quick wit and a great sense of humor.

Those of us who are Trey Gowdy fans now understand his decision.

We wish Mr. Gowdy and his family well,

We have also lost the one person in the House of Representatives  whose ethics were beyond reproach and continually made arguments that our Founding Fathers would have approved.

It must have been extraordinarily frustrating to put together such cogent arguments and have the losers on the left continue to take the Fifth refusing to answer his questions.

While at the same time when he won in his arguments to have nothing done about them with no one ultimately brought to justice.

Please enjoy some of his greatest moments below.

I have to leave you will some amazing memories.

You don’t suppose that sinister forces like the Clinton’s and Obama’s “O.F.A.” AKA “Training future Marxist Community Organizers ,have threatened the congressman or his family do you?

Representative Trey Gowdy, a rising star among conservative Republicans, said Wednesday he will retire from politics and return to being a lawyer.

The Washington Times

March 4th, 2018

According to the Congressman, “I will not be filing for re-election to Congress nor seeking any other political or elected office; instead I will be returning to the justice system,” he said.

“Whatever skills I may have are better used in a courtroom than in Congress, and I enjoy our justice system more than our political system.

As I look back on my career, it is the jobs that both seek and reward fairness that are most rewarding.”

His decision was a surprise, given that he only recently ascended to the chairmanship of the House’s chief investigative committee, giving him a wide-ranging platform to expose government wrongdoing.

The South Carolina Republican also led the investigation into the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attack and the response by then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

That inquiry and his fierce style of questioning at congressional hearings, honed by years as a prosecutor, made Mr. Gowdy a star among conservative grassroots activists.

When push came to shove and a judgeship was in his reach, he looked deep into the matter and felt the majority of the cases he would deal with, specifically anti-trust cases interested him not.

Obama nearly destroyed our country economically, militarily coupled with his racism he set us further on the march to becoming a Socialist State. I believe the real reason why Mr. Gowdy is leaving the human sinkhole that is Washington DC. I can sum it up in two proper and highly familiar (unless you’ve been living in a cave in a remote wilderness somewhere) proper nouns: Hillary Clinton.
No matter how hard Mr. Gowdy tried to show the nation and the world what a duplicitous, lying, evil Jezebel she is, he was continually hitting brick walls in his way- compliments of the equally nefarious Democratic Party- until, of course, the old crone in pantsuits tossed her hat into the ring for the 2016 Presidential Election. Then Mr. Gowdy was routinely condemned in the Clinton-worshiping media as staging a “political witch hunt” against poor, put upon “broke” Hillary with her plethora of psychical ailments, blah, blah, blah.
Meanwhile, after her stunning defeat to President Trump, Planned Parenthood awarded her with a special honor as “”Champion of the Century” in regards to abortion rights and “40 years of service to the women and girls of in this country.”
What about all the females she has helped to murder with her support of abortion?
It makes me sick how she seems to get away with every scandal she has been involved in,
however, in this situation I am also reminded of the words of Psalm 37: 13: “The Lord laughs at the wicked for He sees that their own day of defeat is coming.”
Even though I am sad to hear that Mr. Gowdy is leaving Washington, as a true patriot he will undoubtedly remain a powerful influence which truly represents the best interests of the American people in both his state and within our national justice system.
May God bless him in all his future endeavors.

This announcement is not new and does not eliminate Government Service. IMO!

According to Congressman Gowdy; “I will not be filing for re-election to Congress nor seeking any other political or elected office; instead I will be returning to the justice system,” he said.

There is a Justice Department in America’s Government and Gowdy would be a great Judge for the Supreme Court. Once appointed and confirmed a Supreme Court Justice is not a political creature bit a Rule of Law advocate.

There are two Supreme Court Justice’s that are not healthy and another that has suggested he may retire this year.

    Time will tell!

Unless there is a huge change in the composition of our elected government, away from career “me first” politicians, Trey will be better in the justice system. At least in that venue he can make things happen. I agree with Dave somewhat in that it is in what he doesn’t say than one can ponder hope. But personally I was really hoping he would have been picked for a high level position with teeth. Congress is not one of those. Best of luck to you, Trey!

On the money General, perhaps after a few years in in te private sector practicing law few if any return. They get used to a financial life stile for them selves and their families. One thing certain, if I got side ways with the law, Trey Gowdy would be the man I would want to tepresent me.

  4. I am a BIG fan! I would love to see him on THE SUPREME COURT! And, there are many other important things he could do for the Justice System. Much better than where NOTHING gets accomplished- – (Senate or Congress!)

    • JCscuba says:

No Arguments here Granny unless he changes his position after practicing lae for a couple years, He has indicate the Bench doesn’t interest him. seriously, how many return to Congress after leaving?
I’m only speaking of Republicans here.

For their part, those Democrats who have burrowed themselves within the system, have no other place to find work.
