So is it actually possible to build a wall like that and what would it mean for the construction industry?
This was a campaign promise that will not be broken.
President takes the security of the United States as one of his top priorities.
Speaking on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Reince Priebus said the White House has already seen progress in getting cash for border security in legislation that Congress needs to pass by next weekend.
There are increasing concerns that Trump might allow the government to shut down if funding for a wall is not included in the government spending package.
But the White House is downplaying that possibility while accusing Democrats of obstructing funding for a wall.
“We expect a massive increase in military spending. We expect money for border security in this bill. And it ought to be. Because the president won overwhelmingly.
And everyone understands the border wall was part of it.”
But Democrats showed little sign that they are eager to compromise with Trump and endorse funding for a wall.
Speaking on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said he hopes the president “will back off” wall funding in the spending deal.
Shutting down the government over the wall, “would be the height of irresponsibility,” Durbin said.
Progressive Democrats, carrying not for their constituents would be only so happy to see a government shutdown happen.
Why not, they have to plans to run on and mistakenly believe they can blame the Republican Party for this.
Remember, President Trump wrote “The Art of the Deal and is willing to compromise while democrats do not.
