It’s time for term limits on members of the United States Congress

The Founding Fathers didn’t intend to have Klingons come to congress to make a career out of making laws that raise taxes and decrease personal freedoms.

While we are at it, We the People must greatly limit the time spent in congress, say two meetings with a substantial cut in pay for each congressional member.

Those who run for office and refuse to leave are addicted to power which leads to their corruption.

They don’t see us as constituents but as our overseers.

During the Trump Administration, that must end.

Will it?  Doubtfully but it is certainly worth a try.

Most would have no clue after retiring what to do with the rest of their lives.

Take the Clinton’s, career unindicted criminals and reprobates  pictured below.

Just think, without Donald Trump, these tow losers could be back in the White House again.

President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to use his time in the White House to “drain the swamp” in Washington D.C. Only time will tell if he can. But if Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla) get their way, Trump’s going to have a great deal of reform help.

This week, Cruz and DeSantis officially introduced a constitutional amendment to impose term limits on Congress.

“The American people resoundingly agreed on Election Day, and President-elect Donald Trump has committed to putting government back to work for the American people,” Cruz said in a statement on Tuesday. “It is well past time to put an end to the cronyism and deceit that has transformed Washington into a graveyard of good intentions.”

The proposal would limit members of the Senate to two six-year terms and House lawmakers to three two-year terms.

The measure, which DeSantis calls a “first step” to true government reform, has the backing of Republican Senators Mike Lee (Utah), Deb Fischer (Neb.), Marco Rubio (Fla.), Ron Johnson (Wis.), Thom Tillis (N.C.) and David Perdue (Ga.).

Unfortunately, there is currently no indication that the GOP leadership controlling Congress has any interest in advancing the effort.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) made his position on the issue clear last year when he told reporters: “We have term limits — they’re called elections.”

House Speaker Paul “THE RYNO” Ryan (R-Wis.), meanwhile, hasn’t indicated whether he believes the proposal will come up for a vote.

If the proposal were able to clear both chambers of Congress, it would also need to be ratified by three-fourths of the nation’s state legislatures before becoming law.

Term limits have overwhelming support for term limits among U.S. voters. Still, when Sen Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) introduced a term limit proposal in 2012, it was defeated by an abysmal margin of 24-75 in the Senate.

About JCscuba

I am firmly devoted to bringing you the truth and the stories that the mainstream media ignores. Together we can restore our constitutional republic to what the founding fathers envisioned and fight back against the progressive movement. Obama nearly destroyed our country economically, militarily coupled with his racism he set us further on the march to becoming a Socialist State. Now it's up to President Trump to restore America to prominence. Republicans who refuse to go along with most of his agenda RINOs must be forced to walk the plank, they are RINOs and little else.

I liken this to a bad employee doling out his own punishment for not showing up, not working, stealing from his employer and writing his own paycheck and benefits while the owner of the company hands him the pen. Sounds crazy but it is just what we are doing. Once they decided they could write their own ticket it was the beginning of deaf ears to the people and free will run riot. The pork for themselves, not even their constituents, is repulsive. They used to try and cover up some of the actions they were taking but when Bonehead got to be Speaker it became every man for themselves as he openly sided with the other side. We had to run him out of town to get rid of him! When are we going to stand up and say ENOUGH???? I AGREE WITH DITCH THE MITCH! Let’s vote him out, and all the others who are over due to get out! Lets start beating our drums and making calls and marching and making noise, LOUD NOISE to tell them what we want. It’s worth a try. I am on board. Am starting my phone calls today. Anybody with me?
