O.J. Simpson’s squeaky clean image and rags to riches story were the types of “only in America” success story that the sports world holds up as an example of how much can be achieved in athletics.

Love him or hate him if you believe he was responsible for killing his wife Nicole, that discussion can be saved for a later date.

Once he is released from prison he will have done his time for the crime he committed.

He is entitled to his pension, he earned it and deserves it.

Jurors clearly had reasonable doubt to not convict Simpson.

Perhaps if good can be found in this tragedy it’s the Innocence Project.(Source)

The Innocence Project is a national litigation/public policy organization dedicated to exonerating wrongfully convicted individuals through DNA testing, and reforming the criminal justice system to prevent future injustice.

Founded by Peter Neufeld and Barry Scheck, of Simpson’s defense team, do use DNA to secure the release of individuals or who took a plea bargain when DNA evidence was not available or presented during the trial.

The Innocence Network is a group of independent organizations that exonerate and support the innocent, and redress the causes of wrongful conviction.

Prosecutor Christopher Darden did his team no favors by suggesting that O.J. Simpson try on the gloves.

“If the glove don’t fit, you must acquit.” isn’t science, it was a nice jingle created for the jury by Jonny Cochran of the defense.

Far too much evidence was presented in O.J’s favor by his defense team, it was a blown job by the prosecution.

Ten still ten unanswered questions about the murder trial. (Source)

With an overwhelmingly positive public persona and a record-breaking career, O.J. Simpson’s fall from grace ultimately became a sociological study in race relations and celebrity in America.

Many people, if not most people still believe that Simpson was guilty and this was a travesty of justice. There are a few select people that believe his innocence. In fact, there isn’t an investigator that has succeeded to prove his guilt.(Source)

A parole board hearing on July 3 is expected to recommend his release based on good behavior (Source)

OJ Simpson could walk free from jail in a few months after serving less than a third of his sentence before cashing in on his multi-million dollar NFL pension.

The former American football star could be released exactly nine years into his 33-year sentence after he was jailed for a string of crimes including armed robbery and kidnapping in 2008.

A parole board hearing on 3 July is expected to recommend the 69-year-old’s release based on good behavior.

He needs to secure recommendations to be released from at least four of the seven commissioners at the hearing, something Las Vegas criminal defence attorney Daniel Hill was confident of.

“He’s the kind of person who gets paroled,” Mr. Hill told the The Daily Express

“He has done a significant amount of time and, by all accounts, hasn’t caused any problems.”

The athlete turned film star was controversially cleared of the brutal murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her lover Ron Goldman in 1995.

  1. One reason the glove did not fit was OJ stopped taking the drug he was taking for his rheumatoid arthritis pre his lawyer’s instructions. I have rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and if I stopped my medication my hands would swell up just like OJ’s did. I hope he stays in prison

    • That’s certainly a possibility, but that wasn’t science, it was just a jingle Johnny Cochran cooked up to confuse the jurors. If you take the time to actually read the supporting link near the top, I listed 10 unanswered questions. Each represents reasonable doubt, taken together they represent overwhelming reasonable doubt.

  2. He destroyed his life. He should remain in prison.

    • Sorry E-Babe, not buying your circular logic. We have the U.S. Constitution which includes in the Bill of Rights no Double Jeopardy. O.J. was FOUND NOT GUILTY,” in the murder trial, and guilty for participating in an armed robbery to get his sports memorabilia which was being held and sold by thugs in Las Vegas. He did his time is a threat to no one and will be released.
