This is just my first experience I had with Muslims. I didn’t know anything about them. My daughter and I kept geting evicted because there was no child support; and a secretary’s job wasn’t enough.
I learned the nightclub business upside down and inside out.
I had a great reputation in Dallas and Irving, TX for taking failing nightclubs and bringing them back into the Black (Profit) witin 30 days.
Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission (“TABC”) called me. It seemed there was a nightclub in Dallas that had just been bought by two Muslim Brothers.
My contract was simple.It was ONE page; AND, I also recorded the conversation (and they knew it).
“I will get your nightclub up in the “BLACK” (profit) in 30 days; or you owe me nothing.” There was only ONE stipulation…you cannot buy new furniture, carpet, ice machines, etc.”
The end of the 30 days came and the club was HUGELY successful. I asked for my $. One of the Muslims said, “We don’t have to pay you because you are a woman.” I GRINNED REALLLLY BIG, “Are you sure?” He said, “Yes we are and you get outta here.”
I went home and called TABC to tell them what happened. This is Texas, and yes, they did say this, “Little Lady, you meet us at that GD Club”.
They took ALL of the $ out…put it in a large bag and handed it to me. They jerked their liquor license off of the wall; and bolted the doors shut.

For some reason, I can’t reply under JC, and it won’t let me. Muslims were rare in Texas. I had no idea what they were like.
JC, this was years and years ago….I met my first couple of them when I was Managing the Holiday Inn Nightclub very close to the DFW Aiport.
They were starving and needed work. They were kind, quiet and worked hard. I didn’t hire them. The Holilday Inn did. They worked in the Kitchen.

What a story Upaces! You go girl! Good to hear the Lone Star TABC stood by you & gave them a taste of what happens when they want to play Cowboys and Muslims… ! How horrible hundreds of thousands of them are being imported O to US soil! The DC hood rats ought to have to house two or three families in their gown homes before them loose in our communities… Maybe the flesh eating virus will wipe millions of them out in the Middle East.&

Sam, the ol’ guy that was head of “TABC”…I went to his office one time because I was going to BUY my own nightclub. “Sam (head of TABC”), I need a rule book. I don’t want to mess up.
Sam replied, “We don’t have no GD rule book! You go along little lady, you’ll do fine.”

What did Sam look like? He most certainly was/is a Texan. He wore Western Clothes to work. He also word a gun belt with a big gun on both sides (I don’t know much about guns…they were very large).

TEXAS….I didn’t allow chit! I never had fights in my bars. A male bouncer is the worst thing to have. It becomes “He man vs. He Man.” So? I was the bouncer.
Years ago, I was doing an internship at a shelter for battered women. I met Tina (she was from Iran); and she married a military man and changed her name to “TINA.” I don’t know what it was before.
She only told a few horror stories about her country. She was so glad to be here.
