An excellent reporter or one of the few Republicans in the room.
He had to ask the right amount of question irritating the then Clinton Administration to be removed from his assignment.

In recent years it has become a thing to ask reporters how they vote and which party they belong to.
Many fiercely won’t answer.
But with accusations of bias constantly flying, some are hard pressed to not say.
With CNN’s Jake Tapper as the upcoming debate moderator on Sept. 16, some are clamoring to know just where his political loyalties lie.
There are few reporters that conservative journalists can collectively stomach, but Tapper has pretty consistently been a fan favorite.
It’s his political agnosticism that allows him to cover both parts of the political agenda of both parties without appearing that he has a dog in the hunt.
How many journalists can we say that about today?
Is he Republican for the most part?
He seems to be.
